PE

At Morgan's School, we implement the GetSet4PE scheme for our Physical Education (PE) lessons. To view the curriculum overview for this academic year, please click here. This exceptional program encompasses a wide range of sports, providing various adaptations to cater to the individual needs of your children. By clicking on the link and navigating to your child's class page, you will discover subject knowledge organisers. These organisers serve to reinforce and build upon previously acquired knowledge, serving as a reminder of the subject-specific vocabulary they have already acquired and what they will learn in their new year group. We have conveniently attached all the subject knowledge organisers for PE in each Key Stage for this academic year. Additionally, you can access these resources on our school website, where they will be made available alongside other foundational subjects.

HWSSP (Herts and Ware School Sports Partnership)

Morgans is a member of the Herts & Ware School Sports Partnership, which is a network of Hertford and Ware schools working together on all things sports. This network is responsible for organising sporting events each term, as well as connecting local schools for sporting fixtures.

Sporting Fixtures & Events - Rationale

As the HWSSP organises events and designates the age range of the children for each event, the year groups to participate in these events are subject to what is organised by the HWSSP.  The HWSSP organises these events based upon 3 tiers of competitive level, in what is known as the School Games. The ‘Compete’ events are usually the big events that most schools attend e.g. District sports.

At Morgans, our aim is to provide sporting experiences for as many pupils as we can over the course of the year. Please click the link Sports Events at Morgans  to see the Sports Events for this term, which have been organised by the HWWSP. This link also has information about the level of competitiveness of each activity. We strive to attend as many events as we can. Miss Milazzo organises Year 3 and 4 events and Mr Robson organises Year 5 and 6 events. KS1 events are organised by both Miss Milazzo and Mr Robson.

Staffing of Events

In order for Morgans to participate in sporting events, we do rely upon the availability of adults. It is important that parents appreciate that there are often logistical considerations that are always needing to be considered to enable the children to attend events. We enjoy collaborating with our parents and encourage as many of you to not only support with transporting to and from events (in the event of your child being asked to attend) but also to come and spectate where possible!

Sports Clubs

Morgans seeks to ensure that children are given the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports. Morgans offers sporting clubs both at lunchtimes and after school. Lunchtime clubs are offered as part of the Sports Premium funding at no charge to parents. Below you will find a document that will show you our lunch and after school clubs on offer.
