Remote Learning
In the event of a whole school closure or the temporary closure of individual bubbles due to a positive case of COVID 19, remote learning will commence online the next working day.
Aims of Remote Learning
Our aim is for pupils to access the full curriculum learning for their year group using the online platform through the use of Google Classroom, Google Meet, Seesaw and Tapestry.
Below are some useful sites to use with your child(ren) which may support you in your home learning.

Google Classroom - Online classroom area
Google Classroom enables teachers to create an online classroom area in which they can manage all the documents that their students need. Documents are stored on Google Drive and can be edited in Drive’s apps, such as Google Docs, Sheets, and so on. But what separates Google Classroom from the regular Google Drive experience is the teacher/student interface, which Google designed for the way teachers and students think and work. Google Classroom sits between you and Google Drive and provides a teacher/student-friendly way of managing classroom documents.

Seesaw - Platform for online engagement
Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It’s simple to get student work in one place and share with families, and nothing is shared without teacher approval.

Tapestry - Online journal for Nursery and Reception
Tapestry builds a very special record of a child’s experiences, development and learning journey through their early years and primary education. Using photos, videos and diary entries, a teacher or early years practitioner, along with the child’s parents, ‘weaves’ the story of the child and how they are growing and developing. The Tapestry platform then works seamlessly to enable these memories to be kept as a permanent record of each child’s unique journey. All information held in the platform is stored securely, and can be downloaded and shared as required. Parents are able to view online their child’s progress and how much fun they’re having, whilst also uploading their own comments and media.
The communication between staff and parents that Tapestry enables, helps build a shared understanding of how every child can reach their full potential, from birth to the end of primary school. The Tapestry online learning journal is also available as an easy-to-use, secure app, meaning capturing key learning moments, and videoing milestones are even easier.

Learning Powers at Morgans
At Morgans school we use Building Learning Power as part of our aim to develop independent learners with a growth mindset. Lifelong learning is our birth right and we can continually develop our capacity to learn throughout our lives.
Research suggests that there are several dispositions that we need to develop in order to become successful lifelong learners.
Guy Claxton, who has created Building Learning Power, suggests that there are key learning dispositions.
We have called them our 7 Learning Powers and are known as
Creativity Champ (Purple)
Confidence Champ (Red)
Collaboration Champ (Blue)
Commitment Champ (Yellow)
Curiosity Champ (Green)
Craftsmanship Champ (White)
Communication Champ (Orange)
These dispositions are inherent in us all. They are not fixed at birth, or when we leave school; they can be developed by everyone regardless of “ability”, social background or age. In fact, ...there are NO limits to extending our learning power!
How empowering is that? How liberating? How exciting?
We can think of these dispositions as being like groups of "learning muscles". Just as we can build our physical muscles with the right kinds of exercise, so we can exercise our learning muscles to develop their strength and stamina. Each of these dispositions is made up of a number of learning behaviours, which are called capacities. Because the learning capacities are quite specific in nature, they can be individually trained, nurtured and exercised.
