In the event of severe and dangerous weather, or an emergency such as heating failure, the school may be closed. Here is what to expect under such circumstances and how notification will be given.

If the school is to be closed, you will be sent a ParentMail email, the school will have up to date information displayed on its website and the school hotline number (0844 412 1741) will also feature notification. Herts County Council will also ensure that a message is announced on Ten17 and Heartbeat FM radio stations. One of the school governors will also put signs on the school gate indicating that the school is closed.

The ParentMail system was overloaded last year since it was inundated through many primary schools using it. This meant messages arrived some time after they were originally sent. Therefore to ensure the system is robust, if you suspect bad weather may force closure, please ensure you check the school website before leaving home and the hotline number.
