The children came back to school brilliantly after the Christmas break, and remembered what to do as they arrived at the beginning of the session. It was as if they had never been away!
We are looking forward to a busy and exciting term ahead, as the children grow in confidence and independence and continue to develop their friendships.
We will be sending the children home with a 'Sharing pack', which will initially be introduced to your child through an adult-led focused group time. Your child will keep the book they bring home for a week, to enjoy and share and re-visit with you every day. They will then change their pack on the day designated to them, so that they can bring home a new one. A letter will be sent home, giving you details of this. We hope these packs will help your child and you develop a shared love of reading and books.
As always, the learning activities we plan, will grow from the interests and needs of your children, so if your child is displaying any new interests, we would love to hear about them.
Our initial starting points for this half term are:
The Five Senses - as a way of encouraging the children to explore and notice detail in their world, using each of The Five Senses.
Out and About in Winter - Using the natural resource of the outdoor classroom to explore changes in the environment
Festivals and Celebrations including 'Chinese New Year
Our core book for this half-term will be 'Peace at Last' by Jill Murphy.
