What do you like about being a governor at Morgans?
I am delighted to be a governor at a school that works to develop our children as rounded, happy, fulfilled people as well as successful learners. I am proud to work with a team of staff who show such commitment to the well-being and development of the young people we serve.
What skills do you bring to the role?
I have many years of experience in education, as a teacher, school leader and as a member of the Local Authority advisory team. I have specific experience in professional development of staff, developing learning and teaching and safeguarding. I am a dyslexic and I think this helps me to understand the challenges that many children face in education. Thinking in a slightly different way also tends to lead to me looking at issues from angels which that are slightly different from many colleagues.
What is your favourite learning power?
Choosing a favourite learning power is very difficult. They are all so important and so intertwined! If I had to plump for one (and apparently I do) then it would be collaboration. I believe that it is the ability to collaborate, learn from others and build upon their ideas that sets our species apart. If I could cast a second vote, it might be for commitment, as we can't get better at anything without commitment and resilience.
